Just don't crap on the whole game, as it's still the best RTS out there, and we should support Relic for making such a fabulous RTS. This isn't unheard of, as the original COH was released as DX9, and it was the first game to get patched to DX10.

If you really want to see a better optimzed COH2, buy the game, enjoy it anyhow (it still plays very well), and maybe down the road, they'll be able to get some patches with optimizations released. Part of the problem is that THQ went bankrupt before the game was finished, and part of the problem is that Relic wanted to add some cutting edge technologies and effects to the game, and simply didn't have the resources to make them optimized for multiple cores/graphics cards in addition. The game has no link with the original Company of Heroes multiplayer system and is a stand-alone game, unlike its predecessors. The open beta for the game started on 2 September 2010, and the game was cancelled on March 31st 2011. Something else to remember is that although your frame rates will never be above 50 or so, the game is designed to maintain that frame rate pretty solidly throughout, even in the late game period when there's lots of units and action going on. Company of Heroes Online was a free massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ.

The problem is that it's not optimized for multiple cores and multiple graphics cards, and I agree that's bad, but the game itself is really quite awesome. Actually, the game does not suck, it's really quite excellent.
